Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Practitioner to manage end-to-end payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 200 employees. This role oversees both non-union and union payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. The ideal candidate is experienced in complex payroll environments, comfortable working independently, and able to support payroll-related questions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle payroll for all employees, including union and non-union populations
  • Administer payroll using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate earnings, deductions, and compliance
  • Review and validate timekeeping data from an external attendance system prior to payroll submission
  • Manage union-related payroll requirements, including fringe benefits, deductions, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and union labor agreements
  • Handle payroll adjustments, off-cycle runs, and employee inquiries
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, reports, and documentation to support audits and internal reviews
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and support continuous process improvements

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience running payroll for a mid-sized organization (200+ employees)
  • Hands-on experience with union payroll, preferably within a construction environment
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or comparable payroll systems
  • Familiarity with timekeeping/attendance systems; construction-specific platforms a plus, not required
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and union agreements
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
